WHY CHILDREN'S BOOKS

WHAT WRITING CHILDREN'S STORIES MEANS TO THE AUTHOR

The mind is magical, the way humans can interpret their knowledge and vision of this world we live in. It enables us to tell stories uniquely, show expression, and true meanings. Hopefully along the way we help others to understand what's right from wrong, inspire their creativity, or simply put a smile on every face. This is Kathy White's belief and it is what she wants to create and share with the children of the world.

Kathy embarked on the journey in her twenties, travelling in the passenger seat beside her husband Garry. Kathy's imagination tends to see the funny and creative side of everything. For example, while the road train would take a few hours to load Kathy would watch the behaviour and activities of ants on the ground. This is where the epic journey of her books started to unfold; imagining what the ants would be mumbling to each other, hence the idea of the truck and trailers talking.

At the beginning, the inspiration to write children's books was never her intention. Kathy once stated to me that she had the inspiration to write a short story about a trip she went on with her husband to Bamaga. This was for her family only, so they could learn about the adventures. Although she didn't know whether she was going to tell the story in an adult version or be creative and tell the story through the eyes of Pegasus, the truck. Once Kathy began to write the story, she could see the animated comedy and that's the style she decided to base her books on.
